from the Oaklawn website:

Because of the focus on the safety to horses and patrons and, after consulting with horsemen and racing officials, Oaklawn Park will cancel its scheduled live racing program for Saturday.Oaklawn will remain open for Simulcast and Gaming.

Gates open at Oaklawn for Gaming at 10:00 a.m. and Gaming will remain open until 4:00 a.m. on Sunday.Gates will open for Simulcast at 11:00 a.m.

“Our first priority is always to the safety of the horses and jockeys, as well as to our out-of-town patrons, who drive some distance to see the live horses in person,” noted Oaklawn general manager Eric Jackson.“However, the intensity of the cold from the wintry weather of the past two days has created a potentially unsafe racetrack condition for today,” he continued, “And the Governor’s Disaster Declaration, combined with the advisories from the Arkansas State Patrol have convinced us that it is unwise to put our patrons at risk of life and limb to come to Oaklawn today to see the live performances.”

Oaklawn was forced to cancel Friday’s program when a downed power pole put the track’s electrical systems largely out of action until the middle of the evening.“We will use today to check all of our systems,” added Jackson, “And make any further decision on live racing until tomorrow (Sunday) morning.”

“Of course we dislike disappointing the many Arkansans who enjoy the live racing season,” he concluded, “But we all know that we want our live meet to display the ultimate in safety concerns.”

Jackson noted that Saturday’s scheduled King Cotton Stakes event would be brought back in the coming week by Racing Secretary Pat Pope and that many of the races which filled for the Saturday program would be re-offered to horsemen in the coming weeks. There are no plans to add make-up days to the original 2010 schedule.
