Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra recorded her first work since winning the Woodward Stakes (gr. I) Sept. 5, breezing an easy half-mile in :52 at Fair Grounds with exercise rider Dominic Terry aboard.
Rachel Alexandras training had been compromised due to the wet weather in New Orleans, according to majority owner Jess Jackson, and a possible showdown against Zenyatta in the April 3 Apple Blossom (gr. I) at Oaklawn seems highly unlikely at this point.
No plans have been made where or when the daughter of Medaglia d'Oro will make her first start.
