from Bloodhorse:
The Aga Khans Zarkava, the unbeaten winner of the 2008 Qatar Prix de lArc de Triomphe (Fr-I) and that years Cartier Horse of the Year, gave birth Feb. 6 to her first foal, a filly by Dalakhani, who stands at the Aga Khans Gilltown Stud in Ireland.
Pat Downes, the Irish manager of the Aga Khan Studs, was on hand to witness the foaling and described the filly as a lovely individual that is correct, strong, and full of quality. It was a straight-forward foaling and Zarkava has proved herself to be a good mother. The Dalakhani filly is a good size for a first foal.
In 2010, Zarkava (Zamindar--Zarkasha, by Kahyasi) is due to be covered by 2009 Cartier Horse of the Year Sea The Stars.
