Race 3

#3 Orientate Slew (3/1 ml)

Ran a very nice race for second last time behind Street Boss, who returned Wednesday to run second behind the stakes-caliber Johnny Eves in fast time. Also worth noting Orientate Slew was 3 lengths clear of the rest of the field, which was rather large (11 horses). He's been training strongly for this one, and should be fit off the polytrack run. Looks fine on the stretchout.

Race 5

#8 Gallardo (5/1 ml)

Hollendorfer claim ran sharply in his second start off the layoff, missing by a length to Westerly Magic (also entered here) while 5 lengths clear of the rest. He's competitive off recent form alone, but the resaon i like him is that Hollendorfer claimed this horse for HIMSELF. That's a huge angle, and Hollendporfer was absolutely deadly with this type @ Del Mar. Expecting improvement here; should run big.

HRT record:

32 for 111 (29%)

$293.10 mutuels ($9.16 avg)

I love Gallardo especially for those odds. Westerly Magic just set way too easy of fractions and stole that race with ease. I don't think Hollendorfer is going to let that happen again.

Not sure I'm playing the race yet, but nobody "steals" a race on the Del Mar Polytrack. If you went a route having the lead most of the race, believe me, you earned it. 112'4 at the 6F marker is a more than legite fraction going a mile on that track. There is a lot more speed in this race though, that should help Gallardo should he settle back.
