Who Do You Bet With?

I am not a big player but play the horses nearly every weekend. I currently have an account with Drf which I have been happy with. I'm thinking of using Twin Spires since I can get live viedo of all the races. I only have TVG on my Directv so my watching of tracks is limited. I'm thinking the switch to Twin Spires will cure my fix of betting more tracks. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can signup for hrtv.com - The Network For Horse Sports - Horse News, Horse Media, Horse Blogs, Horse Racing, Horse Racing TV | HRTV.com and it will get you all the tracks you don't have on TVG. It cost $80.00 year and is a must for all horse players.

    COACH

If you sign up with Twin Spires, use my name on the referral and I would greatly appreciate it. Call the Twin Soires # and ask for Les Inlow and he will walk you through the sign up. I have been with Twin Spires for years and it is first rate!

If you live in NJ another option is 4njbets.com....twin spires has the best replays as most are in high definition, but one must do a certain volume of wagering to get the replays...unless that has changed in the few months...

Not volume. A couple decent wagers gets it done.

I'm guessing TwinSpires will have poker also, whenever that finally gets legalized/regulated.

Figures to be a long wait though....probably a year or more.

I appreciate this post Coach as I've been mulling this same question lately. I started with TVG but moved to xpressbet to take advantage of a promo. Went through some issues on making deposits via cc with both those sites . . .

Thanks for the feedback everyone provided!

I have used TS for over 2 years and no problems at all funding with CC the few times I have had to as well as getting paid. It is not like dealing with anything off shore and the hoops you have to jump thru to get funded or paid!

Expressbet is pathetic. When I signed up 4-5yrs ago I had just switched banks and was waiting for my debit card. It was Dubai world cup weekend so I wanted to wager that day. I used a friend's card to deposit and they charged it twice. Then when I flipped out, they claimed that I wasn't a reliable customer and refused to open the account. I said fine then refund the money to the card, to which they responded they can't instantly put it back and will need to mail a check which will take 1-2 weeks. From this points on I've done nothing but lobby against Expressbet.

As for TwinSpires, I signed up later that day and never looked back. Any issue (from what few I've had) was rectified almost immediately. On larger bets I tend to use a sportsbook as they offer bonuses and sometimes an extra 5-10% on win wagers.

    A warning about Twinspires-

Youbet was under government scrutiny and I can't imagine too much of that has changed now that they're Twinspires. Not only were restrictions concerning tax issues strongly enforced, they went damn overboard and unjustly lumped exotic wagers together to reach taxable levels. It was sickening, and I pulled all my accounts from them, and any ADW associated with them. By law, they have the right to combine duplicate tickets on the same race together. You can find many ADW's that don't do that. It's the equivalent of repeating your bet at the track, and cashing the tickets at different tellers at different times............however, and I know I'm not the only one this happened to- they've interpreted "duplicate tickets" to mean similar tickets. So even if I had different horses in the 3rd spot of a tri, or 4th spot of a superfecta, they combined the tickets and made them signers. In other words if I played a tri, and the result was something like 4-6-5 and the tickets looked something like this:

    4,5 w/
    3,4,5,6 w/
    3,4,5,6,7,8,9

    and

    4,5 w/
    3,4,5,6 w/
    1,2,3,4,5,6,7

They would combine these tickets for taxes. Eff them. Plenty of ADW's wouldn't think of doing that, and I don't even believe they are legally correct for doing so.

Who do you use as a ADW?

Sorry it took so long to reply, been pretty busy. I use almost exclusively TVG now.
