#8 Amie"s Dini, gave On Fire Baby all she wanted, and if On Fire Baby was entered in here she would be 1/5. Moquette gets tricky and enteres a rabbit for Amie's Dini to track around the oval. I really don't know how this will work out, since Amie's Dini likes it up front, but Moquette thinks it is a good move which will keep the others honest and allow his top fillie to relax and rate, which she could not let happen against On Fire Baby, or she would have been left behind.

Presence of shippers from Baffert/Mott/TAP will keep the odds fair. 3-1 is my guess in a short field. Without On Fire Baby in here, this fillie can get a bit of a breather down the backstretch and have plenty left for the stretch run!

Ron Moquett has a plan. He thinks the Baffert runs best on the front(Mamma Kimbo), so Moquett sends out the rabbit, Livi Mackenzie, and has instructed Greta Kuntzweiller to set a torrid pace and hope it wears down Mamma Kimbo. Now---Mike Smith is no fool, and he knows what the plan is so if he takes Mamma Kimbo back, Moquett thinks she will lose interest---and---find the OP track much deeper than the SA surface she is used to. Regardless, Amie's Dini, will get first run and if she runs back to her Honeybee 2nd to On Fire Baby, she will be tough. All indications are she has gotten better since her last defeat, and she is expected to get a much kinder race scenario today. She has been nothing short of super in her works since last race.

More info to follow on a few today that could produce big prices?

    Yes!
The Rabbit was always a far fetched plan, but Moquett was fearful of Mamma Kimbo. I think Moquett finally figured it out that nobody in here is as fast as On Fire Baby, and that he doesn't need any help on the front.

This fillie can go with the best here, and she will have first run at Mamma Kimbo with plenty left in the tank.

Based upon some backside info along with some old fashioned handicapping, here are my plays today:

    1st---2/4/9 ex bx

    3rd---#2x Orchard House w/p

5th---#1 Indian Bluff, 7/2, w/p, should lead every step of the way, and key 1---4/5/7

    7th---2/4/5 ex bx

    8th---1/3/7 ex bx

    9th---#8 w/p
    and saver superfecta 1/8---1/8---2/5/6---2/5/7

    10th---5/6/8 ex bx and #8 w/p

    Pick 4
    7th---2---4---5
    8th---1---6
    9th---1---8
    10th--6---8

    Good Luck To All!

I'm guessing you didn't see Mamma Kimbo's maiden win. She actually was moree impressive (and ran faster) than Paynter (who ran just a half-hour earlier on the same card).

Paynter then came back and ran 4th in the Santa Anita Derby last weekend, in only his second career start. And obviously, you're aware of Baffert's record with 3yo's shipping into Oaklawn.

Also consider that Mamma Kimbo drew the rail (with a short run into the turn), while Amie's Dini is drawn on the extreme outside.

Couldn't disagree with you more on this race. I just hope Mamma Kimbo doesn't get bet too hard...

You beat me to the punch. She has also been outworking a number of stakes caliber boys. There is a thread about her here as well.

Nice win by Mamma Limbo. Happy enough with the price, too. Very nice filly there.

I guess Baffert enters both Mamma Kimbo and Princess Arabella in the Oaks?

Mamma Kimbo and On Fire Babyt go to the Oaks as 1-2 favorites

Mamma Kimbo's race today was as good as it gets---especially considering she was going from SA to a deeper track at OP. My play---Aime's looser-- was a weak 2nd---but the super saver was decent!

Congrats to DC and Dirty! I guess the homer came out in me! What with Petrino getting canned--I was looking for some good news for Arkansas!! Amie's Dini is a very game fillie, but Mamma Kimbo is a star!

It does not get any better than this time of the year!!!
