Following up on this. The Chad Brown firster who had just worked heads-up with Stardom Found last week (Ayaady) won his debut today @ Gulfstream (7.5 furlongs on the grass). So a good sign there.

He has worked heads up with the following (12-30 = Lieutenant
Colonel, 1-12-15 & 1-19-15= Gold Treasure, 1-26-15 = Market Outlook, and 2-2-15 = Clara Kelly, I don't see Ayaady with him in these works. My info could be incorrect also. Just a heads up.

I can only check back the last month, but here's what i have:

Feb 2 with Night Prowler (won a Grade 3 stakes last month), and the unraced Clara Kelly

Jan 26 with Market Outlook (won a maiden race last time out, but it was 11 months ago)

Jan 19 with Ayaady (won a maiden race a couple of weeks ago, as previously stated).

Looks good from where i'm sitting........ :eating:

Regarding this horse, his last two drills were h/u with an unraced barnmate named Araqeel.

    LIEUTENANT COLONEL
Feb. 2 - Very tough series of works to gauge. He
looks like a graded stakes winner going a half-mile
from the pole but very average from five-eighths
and the Dec. 30 gate work. He was second best
to Araqeel last week going five furlongs but was
much the best today going a half-mile. He went off
in 25 flat to the top, the rider was just sitting to the
wire in 49.20, and galloped out with good energy in
1:02.40, 1:15.80 for six furlongs. I’m going to take
a wait and see approach with this colt. RATING: B

Heads-up on Araqeel, if you guys remember him. Super-impressive maiden turf winner Gulfstream last year (see thread above, he was originally mentioned in the Lt. Colonel workout report that FB posted). I made a big bet on him when he turned up in a Keeneland allowance race during their Spring meet about a month later, where he totally flopped. He hasn't run since, and it's pretty clear there was some kind of injury involved (likely incurred during the running of the Keeneland race, because there's no way he should've run that poorly). He turned up on the Saratoga worktab during the summer, but was never entered (clearly suffered some kind of setback). Reason i'm telling you this is that i have him in my Virtual Stable, and i got an email this morning saying that he worked out @ Palm Meadows (i.e. Gulfstream) this morning. First time he's worked out since the summer. Definitely one to keep an eye on, because obviously they've been extremely patient with him (likely due to his talent), so whenever he does finally run, he'll likely be 100% healthy or close to it. Also, his form/talent may be blurred a bit by the Keeneland debacle. Would imagine he might turn up @ Gulfstream within a couple of months, and might be a strong play when he does.

Incidentally, he's about to turn 4 years old, so he'll no doubt be bigger and stronger than he was when he last ran (as an early-season 3yo). No promises of course, but a situation to monitor. Extremely talented horse if/when healthy.

LIEUTENANT COLONEL ran 7th in a Santa Anita optional claiming sprint on Jan 9th.

For a second there, i thought someone was bumping this thread because of ARAQEEL. Looks like he's getting close to a race....could be any time now.
