Why do they race so young?

It seems to me the problem with many of the injuries to 3 yr. olds is that they are raced too young. If they were to wait until they were 4 to start running, and 5 to be in the Triple Crown derbys there would be far fewer injuries. They are not even through growing at 3. Why race babies? Why is it all about early money, not the good of the horses?

That's like saying why not let kids play football until they're 20.
I don't think the age has nearly as much to do with injuries as claimed

A 3 yr. horse is approx equal to a 10.5 yr. old human. They do not play pro football, or tackle football. I just think horses would do better if they waited until older to race. I have been told that in England they do not race until 4, but have not really researched that. I am not against horse racing, and know TB's are bred to run. Just think they should be older.

    economics,

Also some trainers don't use lasix until they have to. Supposedly this will help the bone density
