Del Mar - Race 3

#8 Nottingham Forest (5/1 ml)

Maiden-claimer closed well into the fast time posted by impressive winer The White Lady last time out, drawing 5 lengths lear of the rest of the field. Her final time compares very well with the other races run on the card that day. She came back with a sharp drill last week, gets some extra distance to work with, and there's lots of speed here to set up her late run. Looks pretty tough.

HRT record:

20 for 66 (30%)

$191.00 mutuels ($9.55 avg)

    Del Mar - Race 7

    #6 Medzendeekron (2/1 ml)

Just got outrun last time by a super-impressive winner that he spotted too much ground to. Gets a much softer pace here and has proven his ability to win around two turns. Just think he's the best horse in the race. Btw, it's worth mentioning that the 12/1 shot Wooden Ticket comes in off a heads-up turf drill with After Market. He was extremely well-regarded a few years ago before being injured. Might pop up with a big effort on the new surface. I'll use him in a small exacta with my top choice.

    Del Mar - Race 8

    #1 After Curfew (8/1 ml)

Cerin comebacker has been training very sharply over the polytrack, and looks set for a good effort here. She knocked heads with the top-quality filly Glorified for a half-mail not too long ago, and looks capable of beating a field like this if she can run to her best.

Nice call here. You pretty much nailed that race right on the head. Too bad she got bet down to 2/1 but still a great bet. Thanks as always.

    Nottingham Forest wins @ $6.80

Medzendeekron went off @ 8/5 and ran third. Wooden Ticket was a fast-closing second, btw.
