Del Mar - Race 8

#7 Pacific Halo (5/1 ml)

I've lost twice on this horse so far, and he did seem to regress last time out, but i'm willing to give him one more chance here with the change in venue and more importantly the addition of blinkers. He last wore blinkers in the race which originally caught my eye, when he was tons the best @ Santa Anita before going on the shelf with some type of injury. Also, it's possible that Pacific Halo may have bounced last time out, coming off the sharp effort after a 4-month layoff. Meets a field of mostly route horses here, and should be able to either take the lead himself or sit off the flank of Winterscore, who certainly isn't the strongest finisher in the world. Looks like a good spot for him here.

HRT record:

58 for 208 (28%)

$488.40 mutuels ($8.42 avg)

I know what you mean. Recently i went to my local racebook to bet on the first race @ Hollywood, and when i went to the window to place my wager, i was told that their computer sysytem was down. And i didn't have enough time left before the race to get to another casino. So i guess you know what happened after that...the horse wins, of course.

Sorry Boxman, I feel for you. I can't feel too bad about the horse finally winning, though. I knew he had it in him, and the last two were kind of frustrating.

Boxman, you may want to check out the Daily Racing Form's "Horse Watch" service. I believe it's free, and they'll send you an email whenever one of your horses works out or is entered in a race. It's a very nice feature.
